In conjunction with the amazing audio/video technicians and Bruce Ewing at Community Lutheran in Las Vegas, we are putting together a virtual choir as part of the 2021 Grand Canyon Synod Assembly.

Our 4/30/2021 deadline to sign up for virtual choir is done, and the next step is for those who signed up to submit their videos by May 24, 2021.

How to submit your video

Thanks for being part of our virtual choir and recording a video of “I Love To Tell The Story” for the 2021 Grand Canyon Synod Assembly.

If you prefer, access raw video, audio and PDF files for our project in this Google Drive folder.

You can find those files as click-and-play video and audio lower down on this page, including:

  • recordings of each part being played with the accompaniment,

  • a video file for each part which shows Bruce Ewing conducting your line by line music, and

  • an audio recording of your part being played.

Recording your video file

Use one device to listen, while filming on another device:

  1. Play the video on one device with earphones connected so you can hear your part being played only in your ears. This is your listening device.

  2. Use another device as your filming device to get a video of yourself singing (iPad, phone, video camera). We prefer you record from the chest up, so that the only sound being recorded with your face is the sound of your voice. It is very important that we not hear the accompaniment on this video.

  3. Start recording on your filming device, state your name and voice part contact info, and then hit play on your listening device for the part you are listening to in your earbuds/earphones.

  4. Email your video to Bruce Ewing at bruce@CommunityLV.org OR upload your video by visiting our Choir Submissions folder.

Please make sure that your recording has your name and the voice part you are singing, and also send Bruce a way to contact you in case there are any problems. Any questions can be emailed to Bruce Ewing at bruce@CommunityLV.org.

Thanks for participating! This will be fun! Peace!
— Bruce Ewing

Tips on recording

  • Don’t worry if this feels like a strange experience. For those of us who are used to singing in choir settings, hearing our own voice alone can be intimidating. Remember that you’ll be mixed into the greater choir and your voice will blend as beautifully as it always does.

  • Try a few takes. Have fun with it!

  • Visit our video resources page for tips on recording and sending your video files.
