2025 Assembly

Resolutions for the 2025 Grand Canyon Synod Assembly are due by the close of business on Monday, April 28, 2025. All submissions must follow synod and ELCA guidelines and be sent as editable files to Kathye Hamm at khamm@gcsynod.org. The Reference and Counsel Committee will review all resolutions for procedural compliance and publish its report—including submitted resolutions and recommendations—by May 23. Thanks to the Bishop’s Leadership Fund, congregations can now register one youth or young adult voting member for free for the 2025 Synod Assembly, June 12–13 in Las Vegas. Just use the code YOUTH2025 at checkout to waive the fee for one confirmed youth (up to age 17) or young adult (age 18–30). One free registration per congregation. Children and youth across the Grand Canyon Synod are invited to submit original artwork for the 2025 Synod Assembly! This year’s theme is “Build Up the Body” (Ephesians 4:12–13), and selected artwork will be displayed at the Assembly, featured online, and printed as postcards. The 2025 Grand Canyon Synod Assembly invites ELCA-affiliated ministries, task forces, and partners to reserve a Ministry Partner Table by Monday, May 19. Anabel Estrada será la traductora, utilizando equipos actualizados para garantizar una participación más clara e inclusiva para los asistentes hispanohablantes.

The Grand Canyon Synod is investing in accessibility with a new Spanish translation system debuting at the 2025 Synod Assembly. Anabel Estrada will serve as translator, using updated equipment to ensure clearer, more inclusive participation for Spanish-speaking attendees.

The 2025 Synod Assembly offering will be evenly divided between Lutheran Social Services of Nevada and Lutheran Disaster Response, supporting wildfire recovery in Southern California. All congregations are invited to participate in this shared act of generosity, offering tangible hope both locally and in crisis.
