Calling all young artists up to age 18! We’re inviting children from across the Grand Canyon Synod to share their creativity in a special art project for the 2025 Synod Assembly!
Why Are We Doing This?
This year’s Synod Assembly theme is “Build Up the Body”, based on Ephesians 4:12-13:
“…to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.”
The Body of Christ is all of us—working together, worshiping together, and serving together. But what does that look like to you? Maybe it’s Jesus surrounded by people, your church family, a community helping others, or something totally unique! However kids imagine Jesus, Church, and Me, we want to see it—through drawings, paintings, and digital artwork.
How It Works
Who Can Participate?
Children and youth up to age 18 from congregations across our synod.
How to Submit Art:
Parents, pastors, or leaders can upload artwork online using our submission form.
⏳ Deadline: Friday, 5/9/2025
Where Will the Artwork Be Seen?
At the 2025 Synod Assembly – All submissions will be displayed at the event!
Online Gallery – Artwork will be featured on our synod website.
Postcards! – 25 pieces will be selected and printed as postcards to be given as gifts at the Assembly.
Special Surprise!
Every child who submits artwork will be entered into a random drawing for a gift card to buy more art supplies!
How to Submit Artwork
Encourage kids to create a piece of art that shows how they see Jesus and the Church.
Take a clear photo or scan of the artwork.

Some kids may need a little inspiration—here are some questions to spark creativity:
“What does it mean to be part of Jesus’ body?”
“Draw the people who make your church feel like home.”
“What does it look like when we help each other grow in faith?”
“How do you see Jesus in your everyday life?”
“What does a welcoming church look like?”
Art Guidelines & Tips
All styles welcome! Kids can use crayon, paint, markers, digital art, collage, or any other medium.
Bright colors encouraged – These will translate well to postcards and digital displays.
If submitting digital artwork, please provide a high-resolution image to ensure clear printing.
Creativity is key! This isn’t a contest—it’s a way to share faith through art.
