Updated Conference Listings & Key Changes in GCS Constitution
The latest version of the Grand Canyon Synod Constitution is now available at gcsynod.org/constitution. This update reflects key changes, including a newly adopted continuing resolution, S12.01.A.25, which was passed by the Synod Council on January 18, 2025.
This resolution updates the structure and composition of our synod conferences, replacing the previous S12.01.B22 that was still listed in the online constitution. Our synod consists of 82 congregations and Synodically Authorized Worshiping Communities (SAWCs), organized into eight conferences:
Capital Conference (Phoenix-area churches)
Northeast Valley Conference (Carefree, Fountain Hills, Scottsdale, Phoenix)
High Country Conference (Clarkdale, Flagstaff, Payson, Prescott Valley, Sedona, etc.)
Colorado River Conference (Western AZ, Southern NV, and St. George, UT)
Rio Salado Conference (Apache Junction, Gilbert, Mesa, San Tan Valley)
Fiesta Conference (Chandler, Maricopa, Phoenix, Tempe, Arizona City)
Cactus Conference (West Valley & Yuma churches)
Kino Conference (Southern Arizona, Tucson, Sierra Vista, Benson, Green Valley)
Ensuring accuracy in our governing documents is essential to the ongoing mission of the Grand Canyon Synod. These updates clarify our organizational structure and better reflect the communities we serve.
