From Enemies to Peacemakers: Film Screening Explores Radical Reconciliation
On Friday, April 4, from 5:15 to 8:30 pm, the Casa Peace Ministry invites you to a special screening of the award-winning documentary Disturbing the Peace at the Franciscan Renewal Center (5802 E. Lincoln Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85253).
This moving documentary tells the story of Combatants for Peace, a grassroots movement of Israelis and Palestinians—former soldiers and fighters—who laid down their weapons and chose nonviolence as the path to justice, dignity, and freedom for all. It is a story of people daring to see the face of God in those they were told were enemies.
The evening begins with pizza, popcorn, and refreshments at 5:30 pm, followed by the film and a guided conversation. The event includes prayer and reflection grounded in our Lutheran call to peacemaking and to live out Christ’s love in the world. The stories, presented in multiple languages with subtitles, offer a deeply human vision of reconciliation rooted in courage and hope.
Cost is $15 per person, which includes dinner and refreshments. Scholarships are available. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited—please register by Wednesday, April 2 at 7:00 pm.
