“Build Up the Body” Through Service: Help Pack Hygiene Kits for Synod Assembly

At this year’s Grand Canyon Synod Assembly, we have a special opportunity to “Build Up the Body” through service. On Thursday, June 12, during check-in (and if needed, after the business meeting), we will come together to assemble 200 “Matthew Kits”—hygiene kits for individuals experiencing homelessness or in need.

These kits will go directly to Community Lutheran Church, our gracious host for this year’s assembly, where they will be distributed to those in need. After the success of last year’s service project, we’re excited to once again make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

How You Can Help

To ensure we have all the necessary supplies, we’ve set up an Amazon Gift List with the exact items needed for our kits. Every purchase made from this list will be shipped directly to Community Lutheran Church, making it easier than ever to contribute.

We encourage every attendee to participate—whether by donating items ahead of time or rolling up your sleeves to pack the kits during the assembly. This is more than a service project; it’s a hands-on way to embody Christ’s call to serve and to connect with fellow Lutherans in meaningful action.

Together, we can make a difference. Let’s build up the body of Christ by sharing His love with those who need it most.
