Experience the Night of Salvation: Easter Vigil at Faith Lutheran, Phoenix
On Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., Faith Lutheran Church in Phoenix (801 E Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014) invites all to join in the ancient and sacred liturgy of the Easter Vigil—a night that proclaims God’s promise of salvation and the triumph of life over death.
Gathering at sunset in the courtyard, the community will kindle a new fire and bless the Paschal candle, a symbol of Christ’s enduring light in the world. From there, we will process into the darkened sanctuary to hear the ancient stories of God’s faithfulness and redemption—from creation through the Exodus to resurrection. These readings are not just historical—they are the living witness of God’s promise to us all.
This meaningful liturgy includes renewing our Baptismal Covenant, welcoming new members into the church, and celebrating the first Eucharist of Easter. The Easter Vigil is one of the most profound services of the Christian year, and we especially invite those who have never experienced it or who do not have access to one in their own congregation.
As Lutherans, we understand the Easter Vigil not just as a reenactment, but as a present encounter with the risen Christ, who meets us in Word, water, bread, and community. Come be part of this holy night that shapes our faith and calls us again to live as Easter people.
