Speaker: Khalil Sayegh
Khalil Sayegh is a Palestinian Christian, born and raised in the Gaza Strip. His deep-rooted passion for peace and justice in Palestine and Israel is informed by his faith as a Christian. Khalil earned his bachelor’s degree from the Bethlehem Bible College before moving to Washington D.C. to pursue a Master of Arts in Political Science and Government from American University. He is the co-founder of the Agora Initiative, which will advocate for a peaceful and democratic future for the Holy Land.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan (ELCJHL) and the Holy Land is a direct partner to the ELCA and the only Lutheran church and LWF member in the MENA region. Pastor to the Lutheran congregation in Ramallah and the ELCJHL Youth Ministry, Rev. Rodny Said was a youth himself in the ELCJHL before attending seminary at Wilfred Laurier University in Canada. The youth of the ELCJHL come from Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Beit Jala, Beit Sahour, Ramallah, and Amman and represent an important perspective in Palestine.

The Young Adults in Global Mission program is a ministry of the ELCA which sends qualified young adults to ELCA partner churches around the world to participate as accompanying volunteers to local ministries. In the Jerusalem/West Bank program, YAGMs accompany ministries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land. Britta, Cetera, Olivia, and Abbie all have unique perspectives from their years to share.
