Watch Angie Rogers’ presentation on world hunger from the LAMA summit
Angie Rogers, President and CEO of Arizona Food Bank Network, was a presenter at the Lutheran Advocacy Ministry Arizona (LAMA) Summit on Saturday, November 7, 2020. Ms. Rogers spoke about (1) the State of Hunger in Arizona; (2) barriers to food security, (3) what does it look like to advocate for hunger?, (3) how Lutherans can make a difference, and (5) why is it as important to be an advocate at the policy level at the state legislature.
“We Come to the Hungry Feast” was Lutheran Advocacy Ministry Arizona’s first state-wide gathering of advocates and friends since Arizona’s advocacy office opened in February, 2020. The event featured addresses by Dr. Ryan Cumming, Program Director for ELCA World Hunger and Angie Rogers, President and CEO of Arizona Food Bank Network.
Ms. Rogers addressed the state of hunger in Arizona, barriers to food security, what public policy advocacy at the state level looks like, and how Lutherans can make a difference. Rogers’ extensive experience showed through in every sentence; her presentation was excellent, thoroughly researched and well documented. Definitely worth seeing!
