Walk, Plant, Pray: April Opportunities to Serve and Reflect
Across Arizona this April, the Arizona Faith Network (AFN) invites us to show up—for peace, for the planet, and for our neighbors. From the U.S.-Mexico border in Douglas to a garden bed in Glendale, these gatherings call people of faith into shared reflection, action, and hope.
Healing Circle at the Border – Sunday, April 13, 4:00–6:00 pm (Douglas, AZ)
Join interfaith leaders and community members at the U.S./Mexico border for a Healing Circle dedicated to unity, compassion, and connection across divides. We’ll gather in a spirit of peace for prayer, reflection, and shared humanity.
📍 Meet at 3:45 pm at Carl’s Jr., 105 5th St, Douglas, AZ (0.5-mile walk to the border)
🛂 Optional border crossing into Mexico – bring your passport if interested.
Tree Planting Event – Monday, April 14, 9:00–11:00 am (Glendale, AZ)
Give back to the Earth and your community by planting trees at Larkspur Christian Church in Glendale. No experience is needed—just bring water, closed-toe shoes, gloves, and sunscreen. Together we’ll support the heat respite center and grow something lasting.

As Lutherans, we are called to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. These April events offer just that: a chance to embody our faith in the world and witness to God’s love in action. We encourage congregations, leaders, and members to share these opportunities and join in as you’re able.
