Unlock $175,000 in Funding: Grand Canyon Synod Grants Application Now Open

We are excited to announce the opening of the 2024 Grand Canyon Synod Grant application period in September, with approximately $175,000 available for funding. This grant is made possible through generous bequests, congregation tithes, the sale of closed congregations, and funds from the West Valley Lutheran Thrift Shop, as well as other unrestricted gifts to the synod. Applicants are encouraged to propose collaborative projects that align with the Grand Canyon Synod Strategic Plan. Collaboration with other ELCA ministries will be given preferential consideration.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be one of the following:

  • An organized congregation of the Grand Canyon Synod

  • A Synodically Authorized Worshipping Community (SAWC) or a Strategic Ministry of the Grand Canyon Synod

  • An organization or institution in good standing with the ELCA or the Grand Canyon Synod

Grant Details:

The grant supports new or continuing projects that serve one, two, or three of the Grand Canyon Synod Strategic Plan goals. The maximum award per application is $15,000, with priority given to innovative and new projects.

Complete the application as a Word document using the format: gcsgrant_organizationname_2025. Submit electronically to office@gcsynod.org or through the online grants system. Late submissions will not be accepted. Applicants must attend or view the Grants Webinar on September 17, 2024, before submitting their application.
