The Lutheran Faith Community Nurse Association presents "This Is How We Die," a three-part series created for nurses and those interested in understanding the process of dying. This remarkable event is based on the acclaimed DVD series "This is How People Die" and features award-winning end-of-life educator and hospice pioneer Barbara Karnes, RN.
Through this series, participants will gain insights into the natural process of dying, the labor of dying, and how to integrate content into practice. Nurses will be empowered to provide comfort and compassion during the dying process, a crucial aspect of patient and family care.
The program objectives are comprehensive, covering various dynamics of dying, including factors that influence the length of labor as death approaches and the signs that death is imminent. It also provides guidance on communicating with individuals nearing death.
