TENx10: A National Effort to Make Faith Matter for 10 Million Teens

What if we could change everything about how young people experience faith?

That’s the bold vision behind TENx10, a national, ecumenical effort supported by the Fuller Youth Institute (FYI) to help faith matter more for 10 million teenagers over the next 10 years, inspired by John 10:10. The Grand Canyon Synod’s Synod Youth Advisory Team (SYAT) is excited to highlight this initiative as a valuable resource for youth leaders, volunteers, and congregations across our synod.

TENx10 equips ministry leaders—especially those serving in under-resourced, bivocational, or volunteer roles—with free, research-based tools for relational discipleship that centers Jesus. With young people leaving the church at an alarming rate, this initiative is more than a program—it’s a Spirit-led collaboration to reimagine youth faith formationin every faith community, across denominations, cultures, and contexts.

Here’s how you can engage:

  • Visit TENx10.org to explore the 7 Discipleship Emphases, rooted in research and designed to respond to today’s real ministry needs.

  • Take a quick 2-minute quiz to receive curated tools tailored to your context.

  • Access free resources from FYI and TENx10 partners on topics like mentoring, partnering with families, and helping teens explore identity, belonging, and purpose.

  • Watch the short video trailer introducing TENx10’s mission and vision.

  • Share these tools with youth workers, lay leaders, and pastors in your community—especially those serving Latino/a, Native, Black, and other historically under-resourced congregations.

For senior leaders and pastors, TENx10 provides turnkey sermon outlines and meeting templates, as well as new toolkits launching in 2025—including a bilingual Latine resource suite and an Everyday Mentoring guide.

As Kara Powell of FYI says, “We are rallying the Church to reimagine how we form the faith of young people—together.”

Whether you’re a full-time youth minister, a solo pastor, or a volunteer who shows up week after week, TENx10 is for you.

Explore. Equip. Reimagine. Let’s make faith matter more—together.
