Step Into Lay Leadership with Confidence: School for Lay Ministry Begins May 17
Is someone in your congregation ready to take the next faithful step in leadership? The School for Lay Ministry is here to support and equip emerging lay leaders across our synod—and now is the perfect time to enroll.
This 12-month learning journey begins May 17, 2025, and is designed for those sensing a call to serve more deeply in their congregations. Participants will build confidence as they learn how to preach with clarity, lead worship with joy, provide compassionate spiritual care, and grow in their understanding of Scripture and theology—all while walking alongside a supportive community of peers and mentors.
Hosted by Faith+Lead at Luther Seminary, the program features:
• 39 contact hours over 13 sessions
• Monthly three-hour cohort meetings led by The Rev. Marianne Ell
• On-demand lessons with practical activities, videos, and spiritual practices
• Access to the Faith+Lead membership platform
• A Faith+Lead Certificate upon completion
Participants will develop leadership skills that are critical in today’s church, especially as more congregations are led by dedicated laypeople. From sermon writing and worship planning to pastoral care and church administration, each session offers tools and insights grounded in Lutheran theology and shaped for today’s context.
