Region 2 Spotlight: California Lutheran University
This week in our Synod Spotlight, we are proud to feature California Lutheran University (Cal Lutheran), a distinguished institution that plays a significant role in shaping the lives of students and the broader community through faith and education. Founded in 1959 and recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution since 2016, Cal Lutheran is home to over 2,000 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students from dozens of countries, representing a wide spectrum of faiths and spirituality.
Cal Lutheran’s commitment to providing a personalized and transformative education experience is evident across its six schools and colleges. From the creative arts to psychology, business to theological studies, the university offers a diverse range of programs that encourage students to explore their passions, discover their purpose, and make a meaningful impact in their communities and the world.
We are especially proud to highlight the connection between Cal Lutheran and our Grand Canyon Synod, as Bishop Deborah Hutterer serves on the university’s Board of Regents.
