Public Ministries: Motivation, Resources, Challenges, and the Role of Lay Leadership

As part of their Lutheran Toolbox, the Grand Canyon Synod Diakonia invites you to explore “Public Ministries: Motivation, Resources, Challenges, and the Role of Lay Leadership,” led by Rev. Heidi Neumark.

Via Zoom. Saturday, 2/5/2022, 11am–1pm MST, 10am-noon PST. Open to everyone, $20.00. Register at diakoniaaz.org, click under events.

Heidi Neumark has served as the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church of Manhattan since 2003. She is also a founder and executive director of Trinity Place Shelter for homeless LGBTQIA+ youth. For nineteen years prior, Heidi was the pastor in the South Bronx and a founding member of a community organizing group that built low-cost homes and established a top-ranked public high school. These experiences led to her first book, Breathing Space: A Spiritual Journey in the South Bronx.

Lutheran Toolbox is a Zoom event open to everyone. This session will explore the nuts and bolts of how to create a Public Ministry to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the world.
