Prayers for the Hamlin family
We pray for the family of Jayne Hamlin, widow of Pr. Dick Hamlin, who died Monday morning, 12/13/2021, at Mayo Hospital in Scottsdale. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, 1/6/2022 at 3pm MST at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 4950 E. Greenway Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
Pastor Hamlin was a long-time Grand Canyon Synod clergy member and former pastor of Shepherd of the Valley in Phoenix. With several other retired pastors , the Hamlins were largely responsible for starting our synod’s Retirees’ Retreat.
“O God of grace and glory, we remember before you our sister, Jayne Hamlin. We thank you for giving her to us to know and to love as a companion in our pilgrimage on earth. In your boundless compassion, console us who mourn. Give us faith to see that death has been swallowed up in the victory of our Lord, Jesus Christ, so that we may live in confidence and hope until, by your call, we are gathered to our heavenly home in the company of all your saints; through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.”
