As faithful stewards of democracy, we in the Grand Canyon Synod are called upon to uphold the dignity and respect inherent in our voting process. ELCA Votes, a nonpartisan initiative, extends a heartfelt invitation to participate as poll monitors in the upcoming 2024 Arizona primary elections. This call aligns with our commitment to social justice, emphasizing the vital intersection of voting rights and racial, gender, and economic equity.
This year, Election Protection Arizona (EPAZ), in collaboration with the Arizona Faith Network, seeks to recruit and train hundreds of volunteers to serve as the first line of defense against electoral misinformation and barriers. The role of a poll monitor is crucial, providing immediate support and guidance to voters at the polls, ensuring everyone’s right to vote is respected and protected.
