This August, we are thrilled to share exciting updates from Lutherans Restoring Creation (LRC). Our Board met this past weekend, and we are delighted to announce that Gabrielle will be extending their fellowship beyond the initial nine months to continue their impactful work with us through the end of 2024. Gabrielle has been an inspiring presence within our community, bringing fresh perspectives and deepening our collective commitment to faith-driven environmental stewardship. Explore the beautiful habitat Gabrielle calls home and see how their work has nurtured their faith journey here. We invite you to consider supporting Gabrielle’s ongoing contributions to our mission.

As we look to the future, LRC is embarking on a Strategic Planning process to define our unique role within the ELCA and the broader climate-changed world we serve. This is a pivotal moment for our ministry, and we seek your prayers and partnership as we navigate these important conversations.

In the spirit of collaboration, we encourage you to reflect on how LRC can support your congregation’s work during the upcoming Season of Creation and throughout the year. Whether through prayer, education, or action, our ministry is here to uplift and empower your efforts.

Additionally, we are less than a month away from “God’s Work, Our Hands” Sunday on September 8th. We are eager to hear how your congregation or Green Team is incorporating Creation Care into this special day. If you have stories to share, please email us at outreach@lutheransrestoringcreation.org.

We are also excited to support Pr. Nick Utphall as he walks the Ice Age Trail, raising funds and awareness for LRC along the way. Follow his journey and support his mission through his video journal on the Advent Lutheran MCC channel here.

Don’t miss our upcoming Connection Calls, starting on August 27th, where we will discuss how to celebrate the Season of Creation. Mark your calendars for September 24th as well, when we’ll join One Home, One Future in celebrating their one-year anniversary. Lastly, save the date for October 29th for a special listening session with ELCA Advocacy, focusing on emissions and the USA’s fair share.

Stay connected with LRC and join us in this vital work of restoring creation, one step at a time.
