Campformation Day of Service
Pr. Jacqui Pagel writes:
On July 7th, 2021, students from around the synod met for the synod-wide Campformation Day of Service.
We joined up with Pr. Craig and his crew from Mount Olive in Lake Havasu City, Natalee Butler from Good Samaritan in Las Vegas and Gershon Gordon from New Song in Anthem. The event started off with a lock-in and worship at Good Samaritan and then continued with service projects around town.
Before we went to our sites, we were blessed by a video message from Bishop Hutterer. Represented by many churches, we served at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, The Springs Preserve, the CCSD Title One Hope office and Lutheran Social Services of Nevada.
After our service was completed, we participated in a live worship with other groups from Mesa and Phoenix. It was so much fun to see our friends from the synod. We ended the evening with a dinner provided for us by New Song.
The theme of the event was 2 by 2 and 7 by 7. We are sent out by two to serve and share the good news and we are also called to forgive not seven but 70 times 7. It was a great event to plan with the fellow Campformation leaders.
