Interfaith Engagement & Justice: Upcoming Events You Can Join

As people of faith, we are called to live out our values through advocacy, justice, and community action. The Arizona Faith Network (AFN) is hosting a series of vital events this March, offering opportunities to learn, engage, and take action. Here are a few highlights:

Know Your Rights & Immigration Updates – March 12

With immigration policies shifting rapidly, it’s crucial for faith leaders and communities to stay informed. Join AFN and advocacy partners for an essential Know Your Rights & Urgent Immigration Updates training on Wednesday, March 12, from 6:30 – 8:00 PM (MST) via Zoom. This session will cover critical legal protections for immigrants, statewide and federal policy changes, and concrete steps for advocacy. RSVP here to receive the Zoom link.

Weaponizing Faith: Religious Nationalism & Democracy – March 26

In a time of increasing polarization, how is faith being used to undermine democracy? Author Katherine Stewart will lead a crucial discussion on Wednesday, March 26, at 4:30 PM (MST) via Zoom, unpacking the financial and ideological forces behind religious nationalism and its threats to true religious freedom. This event is a must-attend for anyone concerned about faith’s role in public life. Register here.

Arizona Rally for Public Lands – March 27

Our public lands and waters are sacred spaces for reflection, recreation, and stewardship. Yet, they are under threat. Join a statewide movement to protect these resources at the Arizona Rally for Public Lands on Thursday, March 27, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Arizona Capitol (Phoenix, AZ). Buses from Tucson to Phoenix will be available for those needing transportation. Learn more and RSVP.

Toward Right Relationship with Native Peoples – March 29

The journey toward justice and reconciliation begins with truth. The “Roots of Injustice, Seeds of Change” program is a two-hour experiential exercise addressing the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization on Indigenous communities. Join this meaningful session on Saturday, March 29, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Flagstaff. Open to all, particularly non-Native participants looking to engage in learning and justice work. More details here.
