Historic Theo Moorman Woven Banners Available for Congregations

Love of Christ Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona, is offering a unique gift to fellow congregations: a collection of liturgical banners woven by renowned textile artist Theo Moorman (1907–1990). Moorman, an influential British weaver, was widely known for her intricate ecclesiastical commissions, many of which adorned churches and cathedrals around the world. Her pioneering weaving technique blended traditional craftsmanship with contemporary artistry, and her book Weaving as an Art Form (1975) remains an important text in the fiber arts community.

These banners, rich in history and sacred beauty, are available to any congregation that would like to incorporate them into their worship space. This is a rare opportunity to receive artwork that embodies the intersection of faith and creativity, enhancing both liturgical spaces and the worship experience.

If your congregation is interested in receiving one or more of these woven banners, please contact Love of Christ Lutheran Church by emailing Dar at darlene@loclc.org.
