Faith Lutheran Preschool: 40 Years of Heartfelt Education in Phoenix

On Sunday, October 1, 2023, Faith Lutheran Preschool – “a school with a heart in the heart of the city” - celebrated 40 years of operation, 1983-2023. Festivities on Sunday afternoon at 801 E Camelback Rd gathered the households and staff for whom Faith’s preschool serves as a community of care and friendships. Nancy Maxwell, founding director and current member of the preschool board, was honored. Recognized for their leadership and faithful service were Faith Preschool’s Director, Alma Cortes; Board President Sophia Galloway; the dedicated teachers; the preschool families and Faith-LaFe members — all who have a passion for this vital community-focused ministry.

Faith Lutheran, under the leadership of Pastor Jonathan Linman, is consulting with the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association (the national organization that provides services and assistance to ELCA Lutheran preschools and schools) as Faith seeks to best articulate the relationship between congregation and preschool, informed by best practices in Lutheran educational ministries.
