ELCA bishops visit Mexican Lutheran Church
The Grand Canyon Synod continues to build relationship with the Mexican Lutheran Church (Iglesia Luterana Mexicana, ILM). Bishop Hutterer recently joined Bishop Daniel Beaudoin of the Northwest Ohio Synod and President Roberto Trejo Haager for a “get to know you” tour to discuss ways we can journey with ILM.
They are pictured at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Ahualulco, México. We are anxious to learn their customs and traditions and affirm the actions that bind us as Lutheran.
Pr. Ari Trejo Haager recently shared pictures of one of the sanctuaries where he presides, Faith Lutheran Church in Guadalajara, Mexico and a little bit about how that community celebrates in the Christmas season. They will host a dinner with tamales and a Three Kings Cake.
Join the fun and make your own Three Kings Cake: Rosca de Reyes Recipe: Three Kings Bread | McCormick. They use a recipe that may be familiar to your family.
The Grand Canyon Synod continues to look for ways we can continue to accompany the Lutheran Churches of Mexico and Senegal. The Global Engagement Teams are excited about the ways we get to be church together for the sake of the world.
