Daniel Beaudoin reelected bishop of ELCA Northwestern Ohio Synod
The Rev. Daniel G. Beaudoin, Findlay, Ohio, was reelected June 3 to serve a second six-year term as bishop of the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The election took place during the synod assembly June 3-4 at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The bishop was reelected on the first ballot, with 216 votes. A total of 195 votes was needed for election.
Beaudoin has served as bishop of the Northwestern Ohio Synod since 2016. Prior to becoming bishop, he served as pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Stony Ridge, Ohio, from 2004 to 2016, and as pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Edon, Ohio, from 1996 to 2004.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in history from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., in 1991 and his Master of Arts in medieval history from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, in 2012. He earned his Master of Divinity from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, in 1996. Trinity is one of seven ELCA seminaries.
