Covid-19 exposure risk: 10/7/2021
A majority of United States counties were experiencing extremely high Covid-19 transmission in late September, according to an analysis of coronavirus case and testing data by The New York Times and public health experts. This means that unvaccinated people in those counties are at extremely high risk. Vaccinated people are at lower risk.
Risk levels in our synod’s counties remained the same: extremely or very high for unvaccinated people.
Extremely high risk counties for unvaccinated people in our synod include Gila, Greenlee, Graham, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal, Yavapai, and Washington counties.
Very high risk counties include Apache, Clark, Cochise, Coconino, Pima, Santa Cruz, and Yuma.
The map above shows the current risk for unvaccinated people in each county, and will be updated regularly. With new CDC guidelines for fully vaccinated people, we continue to show risk for unvaccinated people in our synod. See what is safe to do if you have or have not been vaccinated. Covid stats can be confusing and contradictory. We like this info from the New York Times, developed in conjunction with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Resolve to Save Lives. It provides a simple overview on a county basis, and also gives all the details and precautions to back up each county’s risk level.
