Children of Hope CDC Achieves Highest Quality Rating
Children of Hope Child Development Center, an outreach ministry of Esperanza Lutheran Church in Phoenix, proudly announces its achievement of a 5-star Quality First rating, the highest level of recognition for early learning providers in Arizona. Discover how this milestone validates their commitment to delivering excellent early education, setting children up for success in kindergarten and beyond, in their latest blog post.
Quality First, a signature program of First Things First, collaborates with regulated childcare and preschool providers to enhance early learning quality across Arizona. Studies indicate that children who have access to high-quality early learning programs are better prepared for kindergarten, achieve higher in school, and are more likely to graduate from high school and proceed to college.
As Preschool Director Lynn Hockenberger highlighted, the early years in a child's life witness the most brain growth, with interactions significantly influencing this development. Achieving a 5-star rating reassures families that their children receive the highest quality early education, preparing them to meet the state's kindergarten expectations.
Quality First providers work with a coach to evaluate their programs and enforce quality improvement plans in areas that research has proven to benefit young children. The program's 5-star scale rates providers based on their adherence to quality standards. A 5-star rating signifies that a program far exceeds these standards, an achievement that we are proud to have accomplished at the Children of Hope Child Development Center.
The areas assessed in the rating include health and safety practices, staff qualifications, teacher-child interactions, learning environments, lessons following state requirements, manageable group sizes, child assessment, and effective parent communication.
This achievement is a testament to our commitment to providing the best environment for our children, ensuring they thrive and grow into successful individuals.
