POSITION FILLED: Camp Aloma looking for counselors and nurses for summer 2022
Hannah Manzanares, member of both the Grand Canyon Synod Council and Churchwide Council, lets us know that Camp Aloma in Prescott is looking for three male counselors, one female counselor and camp nurses. Read more in this post and contact Camp Aloma for more details or apply nloma.org
The Nurse position is a volunteer position, and they receive free lodging (and meals?). EMT, RN, or General nurses are fine, as well as retired nurses. As long as they have some experience in the medical field and can show their credentials, that is good! They will have to do a background check and have an updated CPR and First Aid certification. The Camp Nurse also receives a free camper-ship meaning they can bring a camper up with them and that camper would be able to attend camp that week on a fully covered scholarship. In the past camp nurses have brought up their kids, grandkids, nephew/niece, neighbor/friend’s kid, etc.
In the past camp has had nurses come up to volunteer for a week or a couple weeks out of the summer, it does not have to be a full summer commitment, but if the person would like to serve longer that’s cool too!!
The counselor position is a paid position for applicants ages 18-25 years old. The general requirement is that the applicant has a love for God and loves being around kids!!
It pays $200 a week and lodging is covered over the summer. The applicants would do an interview with Leah McKean (camp director) and do a background check. Once hired, they would come up some time between May 25th-27th and leave July 25th after the summer has ended.
And we also have Junior Staff training!! IThis is an opportunity for high schoolers to earn volunteer hours (for scholarships, school clubs etc.) over the summer at camp. We have training June 5th-10th and June 26th-July 1st
