Bishop’s Fall Gathering: Last Call to Register as a Commuter
From Monday, October 21 through Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Bishop Deborah Hutterer invites all rostered ministers, seminary students, and retired pastors to gather at Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree, AZ. Our theme this year, Embody the Word, centers on connection, storytelling, and spiritual renewal. View our fall gathering page here.
While on-site rooms are now sold out, you can still attend this enriching event as a commuter. Registration for commuters is open through Friday, October 7. Commuter registration includes all meals, ensuring you won’t miss the fellowship and community experience.
The gathering will feature worship, synod updates, and guest speakers, including Rev. Andrea Roske-Metcalfe, a storyteller and pastor, and Elder Perci Ami, an inspiring Hopi/Tewa elder and educator. Rev. Roske-Metcalfe will lead three storytelling sessions, while Elder Ami will share wisdom from her life’s journey.
The event begins at 1 p.m. on Monday with a storytelling workshop, followed by synod updates, meals, and opportunities for fellowship. On Wednesday morning, we’ll conclude with worship, where Rev. Andrea Roske-Metcalfe will preach.
To register as a commuter, visit our registration page or contact the Office of the Bishop for assistance. Scholarships are available—please inquire if financial concerns are an obstacle.
Don’t miss this opportunity to reconnect, learn, and reflect with your peers. We look forward to seeing you there!
