2020 Synod Assembly postponed
On Saturday, April 18, 2020, the Grand Canyon Synod Council met, via Zoom, to discuss postponement of our Synod Assembly. The Council agreed, through a unanimous vote, that with the current projected spread of the COVID-19 virus, it is not advisable for us to continue with the plans for the Grand Canyon Synod Assembly that was to be held this September in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Council also unanimously agreed that out of respect for our Las Vegas churches and our host, Community Lutheran Church, that we would move the 2021 assembly, originally scheduled to be at Love of Christ in Mesa, to Las Vegas. The planned dates are June 10-11, 2021. The 2022 Assembly will then be held at Love of Christ. Special thanks to Community Lutheran, Las Vegas, and Love of Christ, Mesa, for your flexibility and hospitality.
We wanted to let you know as soon as possible for planning purposes. As soon as we find out how the hotel will be handling refunds, we will share that information with you. You can expect to see a refund of your Assembly fees, which were paid electronically to the Grand Canyon Synod, by the end of the month.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Synod Office with any additional questions regarding the Assembly.
