$175,000 Available in Synod Grants—Submit Your Proposal by October 18
The Grand Canyon Synod is offering $175,000 in grant funding this fall to support congregations and ministries that align with the Synod’s Strategic Plan. The funding comes from individual bequests, tithed gifts, the sale of closed congregations, and grants from partners like the West Valley Lutheran Thrift Shop. If your congregation or ministry is looking for financial support to grow or collaborate with another ELCA ministry, now is the time to apply.
Proposals that involve collaboration with another ELCA ministry will be prioritized, as will those that clearly support our Synod’s Strategic Plan. Funding will begin in February 2025, but applications are due by midnight on October 18, 2024.
If you missed the live Grants Webinar on September 17, you can still access the recording to gain insights into the application process. All applications must include a Statement of Financial Position, and if you’re applying as a congregation, details about last year’s mission support or this year’s pledge to the Grand Canyon Synod must also be provided.
Questions about the grant process can be directed to Theresa Thornburgh in the Office of the Bishop at office@gcsynod.org. Please make sure to thoroughly review the grant guidelines before starting your application. This is a unique opportunity to receive funding for mission-driven projects that can impact our synod’s ministries in lasting ways.
Let’s work together to make a difference. Submit your application by October 18 to ensure your congregation or ministry doesn’t miss out on this chance.
