Marissa Metevelis

Las Vegas, NV - Leadership Lab

Marissa Metevelis has been in youth ministry leadership since her senior year in college in 2004. She served as interim youth minister at Community Lutheran shortly after college, and later built a youth ministry program from the ground up at Living Hope Lutheran Church from 2010 through 2023. Her latest youth ministry venture is co-directing Leadership Lab (2016-present), a faith based youth leadership camp for high school students and young adults. She and her husband, Matt, met at Luther Seminary and have been married for 15 years. They parent Noah (9) and JP (5) as well as two small pups (Porky and Harper). She lives in Henderson, Nevada, currently worships at Community Lutheran, and works full-time in Special Education in Assistive Technology in her local school district. To recharge from family, work, and ministry, Marissa enjoys traveling to see friends and family, yoga, and watching reality television. She is quite excited to be part of the syond’s initiative to create stronger, more collaborative faith formation spaces across all of our churches.
