To mitigate our risk as we move through a pandemic that continues to surprise us — recent synod assemblies and churchwide gatherings have been Covid spreader events — we strongly encourage all attendees to wear facial masks. While no proof of vaccination is required, we highly encourage voting members to stay up-to-date with vaccinations and boosters.

To help ensure physical distancing, only voting members and essential staff will be at the assembly. Visitors can watch via livestream. We will have no in-person visits or tables from partner missions and ministries.

We encourage voting members and congregations to have alternate voting members ready in case a voting member tests positive and is unable to attend.

We will monitor health information in our synod as we get closer to our assembly dates, and adjust our Covid precautions as necessary. Find your Covid-19 Community Level at CDC.gov, or by entering your county below.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
