Summer 2019 Heat Respite Program at Grace, Phoenix
At Grace Lutheran, Phoenix, we are called by God to be in the city for good! Our calling during the summer months is to provide a cool place for those seeking refuge from the heat, as well as a safe space for building community through the sharing of meals, water, activities, community resources and ourselves. To that end, Grace hosts a heat relief station June 10th-August 30th, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information about Grace's Heat Respite program, visit our website , view a PDF of our volunteer orientation meeting, or contact Clottee Hammons at outreach@graceinthecity.com.
For those interested in volunteering this summer, we invite you to attend the orientation held in the North Room of Hope Hall on June 9th from 11:30a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be served. Please RSVP at outreach@graceinthecity.com or call Clottee Hammons at 602-817-8996 if you plan to attend.
You are welcome to serve in any capacity, large or small, every day or one time only ~ please know every little bit helps! Volunteering is not contingent upon attending the orientation, but it is highly recommended.
