LSSN pandemic food distributions tops 7,300 families and 26,000 people

In their August newsletter, Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN) updates us on the latest state of their COVID-19 Emergency DigiMart Distributions. Since March 16th, 2020 they have gone from serving 350 families a month to 500 families every single week.

From LSSN:

Although our COVID-19 Emergency DigiMart Distributions were not able to run for the second half of July due to COVID-19, we are happy to report that we were still able to provide fresh, nutritious food to 830 families and over 3,100 individuals in July 2020.

Our COVID-19 Emergency DigiMart Distributions have been distributing food to our community since March 16th, 2020. During that time, we have gone from serving 350 families a month to 500 families every single week. In total, we have provided fresh, nutritious food for over 7,300 families and 26,000 individuals in our community in just four months!

While we have no idea how long this crisis will last, we remain steadfast in our commitment to continue to meet the growing need in our community for food, rental assistance, and other social services. To stand with us in support, give a gift today at www.lssnv.org/donate. Together, we can make sure Las Vegans in need remain fed, housed, and stable during this unprecedented time.

Currently, our COVID-19 Emergency DigiMart Distributions are paused while our facility is sanitized and our teammates are tested after our COVID-19 exposure on July 16th. We plan to reopen on Monday, August 17th and to resume distributions on Tuesday, August 18th. Please check our website at www.lssnv.org and our Facebook page regularly for updates as we prepare to reopen.
