LCM|Canterbury welcomes Reverend Michael Girlinghouse as Interim Campus Chaplain
We're excited to announce an important development in our ministry in northern Arizona. Reverend Michael Girlinghouse, the former Bishop of the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod of the ELCA, will be serving as the Interim Campus Chaplain at LCM|Canterbury at NAU, effective from August 1, 2023.
LCM|Canterbury is a vibrant community, serving Northern Arizona University and the broader Flagstaff community. Supported by the Lutheran and Episcopal churches, it provides a spiritual home to students, young adults, and supporters from diverse backgrounds. This ministry actively affirms and welcomes people of all ethnicities, races, national origins, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
Rev. Girlinghouse brings to this role a wealth of experience in campus ministry, a calling he served in passionately for many years before his tenure as Bishop. His leadership and commitment to fostering inclusive, empowering spaces for spiritual growth align perfectly with the mission of LCM|Canterbury.
The Grand Canyon Synod Council has issued a specialized call to Rev. Girlinghouse, recognizing his unique skills and experience. We look forward to the impactful contributions he will undoubtedly make in this role.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Rev. Girlinghouse in his new position, and keep him in your prayers as he embarks on this new journey with LCM|Canterbury.
