In memoriam: Rev. George Thune

Confident in the promise of resurrection, New Song Church announces the passing of Rev. George Thune, who died on Monday, February 17th, 2020 after a battle with cancer.

Pastor Thune was ordained in 1969; his first call was to Christ Lutheran Church in Claremont, New Hampshire. He then served a number of congregations in California: Prince of Peace in Auburn; St. Luke in Sunnyvale and Christ in Reedley. Settling in Henderson, George and his wife Joann joined New Song Church last year. 

Service

A memorial service will be held at New Song Church on Saturday, February 29th at 11:00am followed by a reception. All are invited to attend. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the following organizations:  Lutheran World Relief (lwr.org) or Rotary International (rotary.org).
