Refugee family support
Gail Hamp, a member of Sierra Vista Evangelical Lutheran, writes of visiting with a refugee family from Tanzania:
“We were blessed to have the opportunity to provide support for this lovely family. We delivered a crib, rocking chair, and car seat all donated as part of our new partnership with Tanque Verde Lutheran Church in Tucson for support of refugee families new to the U.S.
Thank you to Rebecca Dennis for the rocker and to Monica Montoya for the car seat. Also, thank you to Carl McCourt for providing his truck so all items were delivered in one trip.
All but one of the children were there to greet us. The only boy, so far. Another boy is expected with due date of March 9.
This family came from the camp in Tanzania where they lived for 10 years before finally coming here. They are originally from the Congo.”
