It's back and bigger than ever: Lutheran Social Services of Nevada’s Peanut Butter Wars!
The current reigning champion is New Song Lutheran Church, who despite the pandemic, brought in 28,977.91 pounds of peanut butter last summer.
Every summer, churches, businesses and service groups vie for the opportunity to reign as the champion in our epic “fun” raiser. So, not only will you have the chance for some friendly competition, but you'll help us stock our shelves with one of the most popular food pantry items: peanut butter.
Here's how you can join the war. Email martin@lssnv.org and let him know your group will be competing. Then start collecting your peanut butter! You can deliver your peanut butter to our offices at 4323 Boulder Hwy., or reach out to Martin, and we'll pick it up.
If you're too busy to collect pounds and pounds of peanut butter, you may donate dollars. Each dollar donated will count for three pounds of peanut butter toward the group total.
The war begins July 1 and ends at 3:30 p.m. July 30. Please email Martin or call him at 702-426-6488 with any questions.
