Diakonia is sponsoring a summer retreat, Life of Faith Initiative, with Rev. Dr. Craig Nessan, Professor of Theology at Wartburg Seminary. All are welcome to participate in an interactive weekend designed to equip you to live your faith every day and everywhere!
Details and registration at diakoniaaz.org. Saturday and Sunday, June 25-26, 2022 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran in Phoenix. Registration fee $60 includes lunch, dinner and breakfast.
The heart of Luther’s theology was driven both by the doctrine of justification and by the power of the Gospel to set us free. This freedom becomes active in love through service to the neighbors God gives us, who are not merely in the abstract, but the very particular individuals we encounter in the arenas of our daily lives: family, school, work, neighborhood, local community, and global connections.
Luther’s theology provides depth for reclaiming the universal priesthood as the primary expression of the body of Christ in mission.
Reverend Dr. Craig L. Nessan articulates theological grounding for the universal priesthood as the primary expression of the church’s mission.
