As members of the ELCA, we understand the significance of civic participation. With the launch of the #ELCAElectionActivator network, we aim to empower our members across the Grand Canyon Synod and beyond to actively engage in the electoral process.
This initiative facilitates monthly virtual gatherings and regular updates from the ELCA Witness in Society advocacy team, designed to equip and inspire our community to participate nonpartisanly in upcoming elections. Through these sessions, you can connect with like-minded individuals passionate about making a positive impact through civic engagement.
The biblical mandate is clear: God calls us to be active citizens, ensuring that the benefits of good governance reach everyone (Jeremiah 29:7, Romans 13:1-7). By participating in activities like volunteering at polling stations, assisting with voter registration, and engaging in community dialogues, we demonstrate our commitment to building a just society.
However, it is crucial that all activities remain nonpartisan. Upon signing up at ELCA.org/ELCAElectionEngagement/SignUp, members are asked to affirm their commitment to this principle.
Virtual meetings are scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of each month, with the next sessions on July 23, August 27, September 24, and October 22, available at noon MST/PDT and 5pm MST/PDT. This is an exciting opportunity to expand our collective efforts in faithful civic engagement.
Join us as we move forward together, equipping and supporting each other in our journey as engaged and faithful voters. Sign up today to be part of this transformative network!
