Walk Where Paul Walked: A 2025 Pilgrimage to Greece with Bishop Hutterer
In October 2025, the Grand Canyon Synod of the ELCA invites you on a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage led by Bishop Deborah Hutterer. From October 15–26, 2025, you will have the unique opportunity to travel through Greece and the Greek Islands, retracing the steps of the Apostle Paul. This journey will not only bring the early church to life but also inspire us to reflect on how God is working in our church today.
Starting in Thessaloniki, the group will visit sites such as Philippi, where Paul preached his first sermon in Europe, and Mars Hill in Athens, where he boldly defended the Christian faith. You’ll have the chance to renew your baptism at the river where Lydia, the first Gentile woman, was baptized. Other highlights include a 4-day cruise through the Greek Islands, a visit to the island of Patmos where the Book of Revelation was written, and the breathtaking monasteries of Meteora.
This 12-day pilgrimage, priced at $4,890 per person based on double occupancy, includes airfare from Phoenix, 10 nights in 4-star hotels, a cruise, and daily meals. For those who wish to book their own flights, the land-only option is available for $3,640. A $500 deposit is required upon registration, with the balance due by June 17, 2025.
Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to deepen your faith while experiencing the beauty and history of Greece. Space is limited, so register today! For more details and to book your spot, visit Elias Tours or call 470-455-6373.
