Dear friends,

It's been a lot lately. Wherever you are in the ELCA, however you serve, and whatever capacity in which you find yourself as a rostered minister, it has been a challenging season of ministry. Hear the gratitude your church has for you. Thank you for answering God's call to serve. Thank you for working through the unknowns of a pandemic. Thank you for continuing to show up to tell the good news that Jesus Christ died and rose from the grave, conquering sin, death, and dysfunction once and for all. Thank you.

With that in mind, let's get together for a time of rest, renewal, and inspiration.

All ELCA deacons, pastors, and bishops (under call, on leave or disability, retired, or an approved candidate for call) are invited to come to the desert — a place where God has a habit of renewing weary leaders.

Mark your calendars for July 17-20 in Phoenix. Each day of the gathering will begin in worship as we center ourselves around our theme, "Rekindle the Gift Within You." The days will begin with Bible studies and keynote speakers. The afternoon hours will offer a variety of individual options from activity in the Interaction Center to workshops and caucus times.
