Prayers for ASU Lutheran Campus Ministry as New Academic Year Begins

As the Arizona State University community prepares to welcome students for a new academic year, we lift up in prayer Rev. Arhiana Shek-Dill and the vibrant community of Arizona State University Lutheran Campus Ministry in Tempe, part of the Fiesta Conference. Located at 340 E. 15th Street, Tempe, AZ, this ministry provides a safe and welcoming environment for all students, embodying the inclusive love of Christ.

ASU Lutheran Campus Ministry is a hub of spiritual growth, fellowship, and service for students from all walks of life. Their commitment to inclusivity is evident in their weekly activities, which include a Wednesday student Bible study at 5:00 pm, followed by a free dinner at 5:30 pm, and a contemporary worship service at 6:30 pm. On Sundays, the ministry gathers for worship at 10:30 am, with a free lunch for students at noon, offering both dine-in and grab-and-go options.

Throughout the academic year, ASU Lutheran Campus Ministry also organizes various retreats, including trips to San Diego on Labor Day and to Flagstaff/Sedona in January. These retreats provide students with opportunities to deepen their faith and connect with one another in meaningful ways.

In addition to spiritual nourishment, the ministry is actively involved in community outreach, partnering with organizations like United Food Bank and Feed My Starving Children. Their programs, such as citrus gleaning, sponsoring families during Christmas, and participating in city events, reflect their dedication to serving others.

Students often describe their time at ASU Lutheran Campus Ministry as life-changing, finding lifelong friends and spiritual guidance that impacts their daily lives. As ASU begins its new academic year, we hold this ministry in our prayers, asking God to bless their efforts and continue to draw students into this loving and supportive community.
