Desert Cross Lutheran is looking for a worship leader at their Gilbert campus. This person will be a gifted pianist and able to lift up other musical gifts and talents within the congregation. Contact the church if interested.

Worship Leader, Desert Cross Lutheran Church - Gilbert Campus

Purpose: Lead worship on Sunday mornings at our 9am worship service in a way that is consistent with our mission, values and theology.    

Responsibilities 

• Make music packets for Gilbert band during the week prior to worship service

• Utilize and recruit musical talent within the congregation

• Work with musicians before the worship service

• Accompany adult and children’s choir. Lead singing time at 10:15 on Sunday mornings (for about 10 minutes)

• Play prelude music 10-15 minutes prior to start of worship services.

• Lead 9am Desert Cross - Gilbert worship service

• Lead special worship services as needed. Holy week services, Christmas eve, funerals, and weddings as necessary

• Communicate faithfully with Director of music and pastors about worship service

Musical Competencies:

• High proficiency on the piano

• Ability and comfort to lead worship vocally

• Ability in wide range of styles including Christian classics (hymns) and contemporary music

• Ability to train others to lead or assist in leading worship

• Experience with technical aspects of worship like the soundboard and microphones, etc. is a plus
