Experience the Wisdom of Elder Perci Ami at the Bishop’s Fall Gathering

We invite you to the Bishop’s Fall Gathering from Monday, October 21, through Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree, AZ. This year, our gathering is blessed to feature Elder Perci Ami, an esteemed Hopi/Tewa grandmother, author, and storyteller. Elder Perci Ami is renowned for her work in healing broken spirits and minds through her traditional beliefs and compelling storytelling.

Elder Perci Ami will share her wisdom and stories on Tuesday, October 22, at 3 pm. Her journey as a healer, educator, and earth protector brings a unique and enriching perspective that aligns beautifully with our theme, “Embody the Word.” Her vision to create a healthy world for all grandchildren and her work on suicide prevention, domestic violence, and self-awareness will deeply resonate with our community.

We will also have sessions on storytelling with Rev. Andrea Roske-Metcalfe, offering insights and practical tips for using storytelling in ministry. These sessions complement Elder Perci Ami’s presentation with additional opportunities for growth and reflection.

Registration for the gathering includes meals and is available for single rooms, double rooms, and commuters. The registration deadline is Friday, September 13, 2024. We encourage all attendees to stay at Spirit in the Desert to fully immerse in the retreat experience. For any questions about registration or to make changes, please email office@gcsynod.org or call the synod office at 602-957-3223.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to engage with Elder Perci Ami, connect with fellow ministers, and embody the word through storytelling and fellowship. Register now to secure your place at the Bishop’s Fall Gathering.
