Support Our Synod’s Trip to Senegal with Pastoral Collars & Stoles

In a powerful example of our shared faith and mission, Bishop Deborah Hutterer and a delegation from the Grand Canyon Synod will travel to Senegal to visit and deepen our relationship with The Lutheran Church of Senegal (Église Luthérienne du Senegal). To support the pastoral ministry there, we are asking for donations of pastoral collars and stoles in black, violet, or white. These items will go directly to the pastors of The Lutheran Church of Senegal, helping them lead worship and serve their congregations with dignity and unity.

If you can contribute, please bring the donated items to the Grand Canyon Synod office, located at 1819 East Morten Avenue, Suite 110, Phoenix, AZ 85020, no later than Thursday, November 21, 2024. Please contact the synod office to let us know when you’ll be bringing items.

President Rev. Latyr Diouf, who leads the Lutheran Church of Senegal, has expressed the significance of partnerships like this during previous gatherings, stating, “It’s inspiring to meet other bishops and learn about the global presence of Lutheranism.” This visit marks a continuation of mutual support and learning, strengthening both churches’ mission to share Christ’s love and serve their communities.

Through your contributions, we as a synod can tangibly demonstrate our commitment to our fellow Lutherans in Senegal, equipping their pastors to lead and celebrate worship with pride and purpose. Please consider joining us in this unique opportunity to support our international Lutheran community.

Ways to Participate:

  • Donate Collars or Stoles (black, violet, or white) by 11/21/2024.

  • Pray for Bishop Hutterer, the delegation, and the Lutheran Church of Senegal.

  • Share This Call with friends and congregations to encourage collective support.

Thank you for your generosity and commitment to this mission. Together, we’re building bridges of faith that extend across continents, united in Christ’s love.
