Support ELCA World Hunger with Region 2's Spirited Lenten Challenge
As we enter the Lenten season of reflection and anticipation, the synods of ELCA Region 2 invite you to join a heartwarming initiative in honor of ELCA World Hunger's 50th anniversary. The Lenten Challenge is not just an opportunity for spiritual growth, but also a way to actively participate in the mission of the church by supporting ELCA World Hunger.
Why Engage in the Lenten Challenge? Lent is a period of 40 days marked by community, reflection, and preparation. This challenge invites you to commit to three of four meaningful practices, including a daily devotion. By subscribing, you'll receive specially crafted daily emails designed to guide you through Lent with purpose and contemplation.
A Friendly Competition for a Noble Cause The Lenten Challenge is more than just a personal journey; it's a friendly competition between the ELCA Region 2 synods. Each registration counts, and the synod with the most participants will earn bragging rights. So rally your family, friends, and congregation to join in!
Daily Devotion: Nourishment for the Soul A cornerstone of the challenge is the daily devotion. Pastor Steve Holm has prepared daily emails to enrich your Lenten experience with more than 2,500 daily devotions written for Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center. Alternatively, you can follow the ELCA World Hunger daily Lenten devotions.
How to Participate You're encouraged to sign up and commit to a daily devotion, alongside two other practices of your choice. It's simple: contribute a small daily donation to ELCA World Hunger, engage in a daily wellness activity, or declutter your life for clarity and charity.
Join the Challenge Today Participation is easy. Visit Lenten Challenge to sign up and begin receiving your daily devotions. It's a small step for your Lenten journey but a giant leap for our collective effort to combat hunger.
