Esperanza Lutheran Church Seeks Part-Time Choir Director to Enrich Worship

Esperanza Lutheran Church, located at 2601 E Thunderhill Pl, Phoenix, AZ, is on the lookout for a passionate and skilled individual to take on the role of Director of Chancel Choir (Promesa de Esperanza). This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to partner with a vibrant congregation in enhancing the worship experience through music.

The Director of Chancel Choir will play a crucial role in coordinating and leading the choir, selecting music that aligns with worship themes and seasons, and developing the musical talents of choir members. With an emphasis on fostering Christian discipleship through music, the ideal candidate will bring a heart for worship and a vision to continue building upon the strong foundation established by the previous director.

This role requires a deep understanding of Lutheran and liturgical traditions, the ability to conduct a variety of choral styles, and experience working with volunteers. The Director will collaborate closely with the pastor and worship committee to ensure that the music program supports and enhances the congregation’s spiritual life.

The position is part-time, averaging 10-15 hours per week, with a compensation range of $12,000-$18,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities include leading choir rehearsals, planning and directing special cantatas for Holy Week and Advent, and coordinating music for significant church festivals such as Palm Sunday, Easter, and Christmas Eve.
