One-on-One Spiritual Accompaniment from Spirit in the Desert

Spirit in the Desert’s Spiritual Companions

During the season of Lent, Spirit in the Desert is offering the Spirit community the opportunity to participate in one-on-one faith conversations with an experienced Spiritual Companion. These weekly conversations take the form of spiritual accompaniment — a Spirit Companion checks in with where you are in your own spiritual journey, identifies what your intentions are, and like the Road to Emmaus, walks alongside you on that journey. He or she listens. Carefully. He or she talks with you about spiritual things, and helps you awaken to God’s presence. Spirit Companions are not counselors, not confessors, not therapists — they are also seekers, fellow travelers on the Way. Whether you are in transition, questioning, discerning, or simply exploring, a Spiritual Companion can be your sounding board. Even just talking can be healing.

Everything that is said during these six conversations over six weeks is completely confidential. You will connect with your Companion via your choice of Zoom or phone. Conversations are up to one hour per week. Spirit will make every attempt to accommodate your preferred time frame.

Our “Spirit approved” Spiritual Companions offer their services as a gift, so that there is no charge for weekly faith conversations through this online retreat. Thus, any financial donations received for this Spirited Lenten Journey will go to support the ministry of Spirit in the Desert.
